I really don’t know what to say about this piece. Hamlet and Ophelia exchanged “affections,” including letters. Hamlet then spurned her affections.

In an alternate universe maybe Ophelia spurned Hamlet instead. In another timeline things worked differently, or one or the other took greater accountability for their actions. Infinite possibilities for an infinite multiverse, where circumstances were kinder to the young lovers. Or not. We’re not so starry eyed when we get older.
