Migraine Mini: Tally Up, Tally Ho

Most of my friends who happen to also be migraineurs have been advised at some point to keep a migraine diary. Migraine diaries are helpful tools for sussing out triggers and tallying up exactly how many days per month we are sick. If I didn't keep track in my Bullet Journal, I wouldn't have known that distance teaching during April 2020 resulted in a spike from 2 to 12 migraine days in just one month's time! My migraine diary also helped me determine which foods I can (and cannot) safely eat. It's tedious, but I can't imagine trying to figure it out without some kind of reference point.

"Tally Up, Tally Ho" 4×6 inch mixed media on canvas.

This series is as much about the issues of drug prices as it is about my life with migraine disease. My maintenance medication has a sticker price of $1200 per month. Why do they cost so much? I assume they are made of gold… so I crafted these little golden pills. So each of 30 completed works of art costs as much as one day of my migraine meds: $40
